'What A Shame!': Javed Akhtar Slams Countries Willing To Shake Hands With Taliban
Javed Akhtar reacted to the statement by Taliban spokesperson Sayed Zekrullah Hashimi. He said women didn't need to be in the cabinet and "should give birth."
Lyricist and film writer Javed Akhtar recently called out democratic countries of the world and called them shameful for willing to shake hands with the Taliban.
Javed Akhtar reacted to the statement by Taliban spokesperson Sayed Zekrullah Hashimi. He said women didn't need to be in the cabinet and "should give birth."
In strong-worded tweets on micro-blogging site, Akhtar wrote,
The spokesperson of Taliban has told the world that women are not meant to be ministers but to stay at home and bear children but the so called civilised and democratic countries of the world are willing to shake Talibani hand . What a shame .

¡°The spokesperson of Taliban has told the world that women are not meant to be ministers but to stay at home and bear children, but the so-called civilized and democratic countries of the world are willing to shake Talibani's hand. What a shame."
Javed Akhtar also urged civilized society and world leaders to condemn the repression of Afghan women and the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan.
¡°Every decent person, every democratic government, every civilized society in the world should refuse to recognize and condemn Taliban for their ruthless repression of Afghan women or let¡¯s forget the words like justice, humanity, and conscience,¡±
Earlier, in an interview with NDTV, Javed Akhtar had said that the right-wing worldwide have an uncanny similarity.
Slyly taking a dig at RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), Akhtar had earlier hinted that RSS wants to make India a Hindu Rashtra.
The remark obviously agitated the party, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) later demanded an apology from Javed Akhtar. They also threatened to boycott his work.
