In the latest podcast of What The Hell Navya 2, Jaya Bachchan called women stupid for splitting the bill on dates. She was discussing "macho myths and modern men" when her granddaughter Navya Naveli mentioned how women are becoming independent and are eager to pay the bills on dates. Jaya thought they were "stupid" to do so.

Navya said that women feel more empowered when they do things independently. "For example, today, if you take a girl out on a date and you offer to pay, some people get offended by that. Because women now feel they¡¯re equally...". Jaya interrupted her to add, "How stupid of those women. You should let the men pay."
Following this, Navya explained further and added, "No, but I¡¯m saying these are things that happen. That ¡®Oh we can open the door for ourselves. You don¡¯t need to open it for us.¡¯ So, where do you draw that line? Are you opening doors for people? Have you ever been in a situation where you¡¯ve been chivalrous but a woman has said, I can do that myself?"
Jaya disagreed and added, "Basically what they're trying to say is ¨C don¡¯t be chivalrous. How stupid is that?"
Jaya Bachchan feels it would be awkward to propose to a man
During the podcast, her daughter Shweta Nanda Bachchan, said, "There was always that thing that a man has to be strong and silent. Even when you¡¯re dating, you¡¯re waiting for the guy to come up to you, the guy to propose." Jaya added, "I would like that. It¡¯s better for a man to propose, I¡¯d be very awkward."

Jaya Bachchan wanted to join the Army
In the same podcast, Jaya Bachchan revealed that she wanted to join the army but women weren't allowed at that time. "I remember a time when I was very disappointed because I wanted to join the army. At that time, they did not admit women, except as a nurse."
