'Just another stunt...': Nayanthara trolled for asking fans to drop 'Lady Superstar' tag
Nayanthara has resquested?that people stop referring to her as "Lady Superstar," stating that she would rather be addressed by her given name because it has more significance for her. However this statement did not sit well with fans and Nayanthara is now being trolled.
Over the years, fans have affectionately referred to her as "Lady Superstar," a term that Nayanthara has now pretty much rejected. Even while she loves the sentiment behind it, the actress has now asked her fans to just call her by her name. While titles and honors "are priceless," Nayanthara stated on Tuesday on X (previously Twitter) that "they can sometimes create an image that separates us from our work."

A part of her letter read, "However, I humbly request you all to call me 'Nayanthara'. This is because I feel that the name is what I hold closest to my heart. It represents who I am¡ªnot just as an actor but as an individual. Titles and accolades are priceless, but they can sometimes create an image that separates us from our work, our craft, and the unconditional bond we share with you¡ªthe audience.¡±
While her fans understood her sentiment behind it, some people said that is this only a PR stunt.
One wrote, ¡°When you know it's just another stunt to make the people and media to feel her presence.¡±
