Alia Bhatt's latest ad for wedding couture brand Manyavar Mohey has drawn mixed reactions. While few people lauded the brand for their progressive approach and twist to the practice of 'Kanyadaan,' a few roasted the brand for questioning an old Hindu practice.
Kangana Ranaut, who has opinions over everything under the sun, didn't mince her words while reviewing the ad. Kangana shared a strong-worded post on her personal Instagram profile.
In the caption of her post, Kangana wrote,
¡°Humble request to all brands ¡.. don¡¯t use religion, minority, majority politics to sell things ¡. Stop manipulating naive consumer with shrewd divisive concepts and advertising¡ #mohey @aliaabhatt @moheyfashion @stylebyami.¡±
In her post, Kangana urged brands to stop ¡®mocking¡¯ Hindu rituals. She wrote:
¡°We often see a martyr¡¯s father on television, and when they lose a son on the border, they roar ¡®Don¡¯t worry, I have one more son, uska bhi daan main iss dharti Maa ko dunga. Kanyadan ho ya Putra dan, the way society looks at the concept of renunciation shows its core value system¡.¡±

Kangana has often targeted Alia and her work in the film industry.
Calling her the ¡®nepo-gang¡¯ member, she even told Alia over a phone call to ¡®have a voice of her own and accused her of being Karan Johar¡¯s ¡®puppet.¡¯ She has also time and again expressed that she finds it ¡®embarrassing¡¯ to be compared to Alia.
While Alia received praises for her performance in Gully Boy, Ranaut called her performance 'mediocre.'
