Do you know comedy was not Kapil Sharma's first passion?
He had even auditioned for Indian Idol. "I wanted to become a singer as a child, but I did not get any formal training in music. I used to listen to good music only. With age, I realised that music is a spiritual practice. I had not learned singing, so the passion to become a singer kept on diminishing slowly," he once told Outlook in an interview.
How did Kapil become a comedian?
He used to do theatre in his college days. At youth festivals and inter-college competitions, he would also do comedy. He then participated in a comedy show in Punjab, which he won. This gave him the confidence to participate in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge, which opened opportunities one after the other.
