Maharashtra Govt To Probe If Celebs Were Pressurized To Post Identical Tweets About Farmers Row
A day after Congress demanded probe by Police into the matter to investigate whether BJP pressurized these celebrities to tweet in its favour, Maharashtra government has stated that it will probe celebrities, including Bharat Ratna recipients like cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and singer Lata Mangeshkar.
So many celebrities maintained silence over the farm laws for the longest time until Rihanna tweeted about the same and diverted global attention to the agitation that had been going on for months. The result was -- some celebs hailed the international pop icon and others broke their silence to post almost similar tweets, some even copy-pasted word-by-word, which many thought was a propaganda in itself. like actor Siddharth said.
Imagine believing this is true ????? , these stars earn so much that they won't need millions to post a tweet, rather i believe it's the other way round. Indian starts were asked to tweet as soon as she made that tweet. Sadly saina and akshay got the same script ??? pic.twitter.com/HyhRSKBUoG

"It has been revealed that there were same posts by celebrities and at the same time. Hence it will be investigated why it has happened," Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said as quoted by NDTV.
Congress leader Sachin Sawant had said that the tweets had similar pattern and that most of them used the word "amicable".
There was a series of tweets after MEA's response to Rihanna's tweet. If a person, be it a celebrity, opine on their own, it's fine but there's a scope of suspicion that BJP could be behind this. We have cited common words like 'amicable' in these tweets: Sachin Sawant, Congress pic.twitter.com/mjLPrJsgpu

#WATCH | Govt shouldn't have asked big personalities like Sachin Tendulkar & Lata Mangeshkar to tweet in support of its stand & put their reputation at stake. They're recipients of Bharat Ratna. "Akshay Kumar and Saina Nehwal tweeted the exact same thing and actor Suniel Shetty tagged a BJP leader. While everyone has a right to express themselves, we want the government to probe whether these people were pressurized by the government to tweet this," Sawant said.

"Our state intelligence department will enquire if the tweets were sent in a synchronised manner. The timing of all the tweets, and the coordinated manner in which they were sent out indicates a line of action and that this was planned," Deshmukh said as quoted by News 18.
