Mallika Sherawat Lost Movies With A-Listers Since She Didn't 'Compromise' But Has No Regrets!

When actors flaunt their bare chest, they're lauded for their 'body,' but when a female actor decides to dress up a 'certain' way because of the role, she's touted as 'bold' and 'hot.'

Mallika Sherawat has been tagged as 'sensuous' ever since she chose movies like Murder and Khwahish, and yes, she had to pay the price of these tags.

In a recent interview, Mallika Sherawat bared her heart out on her experience in the industry and how she always knew what she wanted from her career.

Talking about her experience with the casting couch, Sherawat Said she had her boundaries high up. In an interview with Pinkvilla, she said,

"I haven't faced it directly... My rise to stardom wasn't fortunate, and it was very easy. I got Khwahish and Murder. I didn't have to struggle much. But after the movies, because Murder was such a bold movie, and that kind of a bold image was established, a lot of male actors started taking a lot of liberties with me, and they said if you can be so bold onscreen, so you can be bold with us in person also."

Mallika added that she was shocked that people couldn't differentiate between her onscreen and offscreen persona.

In the same interview, she added, "They did not differentiate between the onscreen wasn't screen persona, so that is where I faced a lot of difficult situations, because I am a powerful woman, and I would tell the male actor, 'I am sorry, I am not going to compromise.' I haven't come to Bollywood to compromise; I have come here to make a career. That's why they have never worked with me."

Mallika also had an honest take on why she hasn't worked with any A-listers yet. She said she's glad that she passed on roles that needed her to 'compromise.'

She added, "The only reason I have lost out on roles is because I refused to give in to male actors, big stars who wanted certain things from me, who wanted me to compromise. You know I come from Haryana, I have a lot of self respect, and a lot of pride. I said I would not compromise.

Mallika Sherawat will be seen playing the role of 'Zohra Mehra,' a leading and influential TV producer in the web show 'Nakaab.'
