Mallika Sherawat Recalls Telling Tesher To 'Get Lost' After He Called Her To Offer Jalebi Baby
Mallika Sherawat says she received a call for the song Jalebi Baby, but she disconnected the call and told them to ¡®get lost¡¯.
Actress, Mallika Sherawat, who is all set to be seen in the upcoming comedy-drama film RK/RKay, written and directed by Rajat Kapoor has been quite vocal about the way she was treated in the initial days of her career in the industry.
Recently, speaking of how people reacted when her film Murder was released, Mallika Sherawat had said that people were too narrow-minded back then, they said all kinds of things about the kiss and the bikini and What Deepika Padukone did in Gehraaiyaan, she did that 15 years ago.

Now, in a latest interview with Mashable India, Mallika Sherawat has claimed that she was offered Canadian singer Tesher's song Jalebi Baby, which is inspired by her song Jalebi Bai. Mallika Sherawat's Jalebi Bai was quite a hit after it was released in 2011.
The song was choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and later, Tesher took inspiration from it to create its remix version Jalebi Baby, which was released in May last year. It featured Jason Derulo.

Mallika also said that she wasn't aware of the Jalebi Baby song at all. "They called me and asked me if I can do this song. Mujhe laga kaun faltu hai (I was like who is this person).¡± And I told them, don't call and disturb me and get lost. I cut the call then. I wasn't even aware who was Tesher. How would I know? I get so many crank calls and I thought someone is doing a prank on me."
Talking about the craze of hit ¡®Jalebi¡¯ in the United States, the Mayya Mayya fame further said that whenever she walks on the streets, people approaches her thinking she's the Jalebi Baby.
¡°Whenever I walk on the streets and people are like ¡®Hey Jalebi Baby¡¯ and ¡®Are you Jalebi Baby¡¯. I will share videos with you. I wasn't even aware where it came from. Then my manager told me that this song is a hit," the 45-year-old actress said.
On the work front, Mallika Sherawat started her career in Bollywood with the film Khwahish in 2003. The actress had also featured in international productions such as Hisss and The Myth apart from starring in Bollywood movies Murder and Welcome.
Her film RK/RKay is slated to release in theatres this Friday.
