Comedian Munawar Faruqui Says He Can Never Poke Fun At Shah Rukh Khan, The King Of Bollywood
Comedian Munawar Faruqui has revealed that he respects Shah Rukh Khan so much that he can never make fun of him.
Munawar Faruqui can be counted among few of the most controversial figures in the entertainment industry. The comedian has been making headlines for various reasons lately.
Despite being called out for his insensitive jokes and even landing in jail for it, Munawar Faruqui continues to pursue his forte in stand-up comedy.
While he was already creating a buzz in stand-up comedy, Munawar Faruqui gained more prominence when he won the first season of Kangana Ranaut¡¯s show Lock Upp earlier this year. Munawar defeated Payal Rohatgi in the Grand Finale of Kangana Ranaut-hosted Lock Upp.
While as a stand-up comedian, Munawar often targets politicians and actors in his jokes, there's one special person in the entertainment industry that the comedian refrains poking fun at. And that's none other than King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan.
During a recent interview, Munawar expressed his love for SRK and said that he will never poke fun at the Pathaan actor.
"Unke jaisa insan..itna hazir jawab. Itna naam aur shaurat ke baad bhi unme ek alag si kashish hai. Aap bas dekhte reh jaye (He is such a sharp and witty man. Even after so much name and fame, he has a very distinct attraction. You cannot help but admire him)," Munawar told Bollywood Hungama.
He further stated that he respects superstar Shah Rukh Khan from his heart.
"Dil se unki bahot respect karta hoon. Kabhi mazaak nahi bana paaunga. As a stage artist also, kya pakad hai unki. Zabardast (I really respect him a lot and can never make fun of him. As a stage artist also, he has amazing control on the stage. It¡¯s just fantastic),¡± the stand-up comedian added.
Recently, Munawar Faruqui's show in Bangaluru was cancelled following a complaint filed by a Hindutva organisation. Jai Sri Ram Sena Sanghatan claimed that Munawar Faruqui's show 'Dongri to Nowhere' hurts religious sentiments of the Hindus and hence called for boycott of his shows.
