Risking their lives to save others, doctors in the time of pandemic have once again proved they are real heroes. Many have come out of their retirement to battle the enemy that we can't see from our naked eyes, just so all of us can stay safe at home.

While many have been acknowledging their efforts and thanking them on social media, today on National Doctor¡¯s Day, several celebrities took to Twitter to appreciate the efforts of all the doctors.

Thanking doctors for working selflessly during the pandemic, Salman Khan wrote, "Aaj #DoctorsDay hai, meri taraf se saare doctors ko dil se shukriya. Aapke dedication, or aapke sacrifices k liye! Thank you for being the strongest pillars of our country in this pandemic! (sic)."

Writer and Ayushmann Khurrana¡¯s wife Tahira Kashyap expressed her gratitude to the doctors and nurses who took care of her during her battle with cancer.
¡°I never knew #doctorsday even existed earlier, but my recent health ordeal has made me value all of them so much! This picture is from the day of my 12th and last chemotherapy session! Can never forget the date. 5 January 2019. The cotton swab on the shoulder blade is of the port. And the nurse in green is holding a box of chocolates that I had shared with them all, expressing my sincere gratitude!

Genelia Deshmukh and Riteish Deshmukh pledged to donate their organs.
"@riteishd and me have been thinking about it for a long time but unfortunately didn¡¯t get down to doing it. Today on Doctor¡¯s Day we pledge to donate our organs. We want to thank Dr Nozer Sherier and FOGSI for inspiring us. The greatest gift you can give someone is ¡®The gift of life¡¯. We urge you all to take a part in this initiate and pledge to save lives, pledge to donate your organs," wrote Genelia.
Actor Zoa Morani also lauded the doctors by sharing pics from Covid-19 treatment.
National Doctors day in India is celebrated on July 1 to honour the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962 at the age of 80.
