'Next To Ganesh and Laxmi, We Have Quran', SRK Takes Fans Inside His Rs 200-Crore Home Mannat
In this video doing the rounds, Shah Rukh Khan takes us inside his Rs 200 crore Mannat's praying area. He reveals they have the Quran placed next to Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi idols as little Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan talk about Gayatri Mantra along with Gauri Khan.
One of the most iconic places in Mumbai is Shah Rukh Khan's sea-facing home, Mannat, which is worth Rs 200 crores. It has almost become a tourist place. Hundreds of people get clicked outside Mannat every day. Do you know what SRK's home looks like from the inside?
When did Shah Rukh Khan buy Mannat?
In this old video doing the rounds, Shah Rukh Khan took fans inside his home's praying area. Earlier named Villa Vienna, SRK bought this property from Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust in 2001. As per reports, the Jawan actor bought the property for Rs 13.32 crore.
Why did Shah Rukh Khan name his home Mannat?
SRK had earlier named his home as Jannat but as soon as he bought this home, his wishes started coming true and his career peaked like never before. Hailed as the Badshah of Bollywood, Khan changed the name of the home to Mannat.
"It's one of the most difficult things I've done in my life to buy this house. I don¡¯t have a house anywhere in the world. I didn¡¯t have a house because my parents died. I have a house fetish. I always wanted a house. When I had kids, I got this house. It¡¯s my family¡¯s house", the DDLJ stars says in a viral video.
This home is special to SRK
"We took a decision, we¡¯ll always live in Bombay. So my great-grandchildren are going to live in this house like some old Parsi family. My office, if there¡¯s a problem, they can take it away, my studio they can take away, everything they want can take away. But my house is for the security of my wife, my sister and my two children."
SRK then takes fans inside the praying area of Mannat
Later in the video, SRK takes fans inside the praying area along with his family including wife Gauri Khan, son Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan.
This is when little Aryan says in the video, "Mujhe gayatri mantra...".
The Jab Tak Hai Jaan actor intervenes and says, "Isko gayatri mantra aata hai poora. Main pooja yeh hi karega".
"Children should know about the value of God, whether it¡¯s a Hindu god or a Muslim god. So, next to Ganesh and Laxmi, we have the Quran also. We put our hands together and say the Gayatri Mantra, which my son says, and I say ¡®bismillah¡¯ with him. It makes me feel very emotional when I¡¯m teaching my children something that I also don¡¯t know very well. I¡¯m not a great follower of religion. I believe in Allah very strongly, but I was never forced by my parents to read the namaz five times a day."
Fans' reaction:
Commenting on the viral video, a fan wrote, "This is a nightmare for Bhakts."
"I used to hate him but I was wrong... I can relate to him... his values are so middle class... stardom didn't change his beliefs..." another user wrote.
"I'm a secular person, I love my religion, but I'm never gonna disrespect other religions. Our Hindu culture does not teach us to disrespect other religions. I'm never gonna let those people toxic people who spread hatred intoxicate my mind with religious hatred. Every religion is beautiful," wrote another user.
