Nikhil Kamath on the worldwide appeal of makhana
It's no longer 'simply' a healthy snack, Nikhi said in one of his slides on that post; individuals are becoming more inventive in adding a delicious twist. It can be found in appetisers, main courses, and sweets, such as Makhana Penne Pasta, Makhana Kheer, and parathas and curries. This need was only increased by the Pandemic. So much so that, even though it costs fifteen times as much, makhana is gradually taking the place of popcorn on Indian platters.

Nikhil added that 90% of the world's makhana is produced in Bihar. Bihar produces around 10,000 tonnes of popped Makhana annually, grown on more than 15,000 hectares. In the state's flood-prone climate, where crops like rice and corn suffer, makhanas, which are made from water lilies, flourish, he added.
Reacting to the post, many people agreed and said that makhana is a very versatile food item and can be used in any way possible.
