Actress Noor Malabika Das dies a lonely death
Living away from the family in Mumbai, the actress who hailed from Assam, the actress died a lonely death. For days, no one knew about her death. It was only after neighbours noticed a strange smell coming from the house, they reported the matter to the Police. When they arrived, they found her body in a decomposed state at her Lokhandwala flat. It is suspected to be a case of suicide.
Why her family didn't attend her last rites?
The Police tried to contact the family. However, none of them came forward to perform her last rites. It is said that her elderly parents had visited her a while ago. They couldn't travel back to Mumbai again. So, the Police and her actor friend Aloknath Pathak bid her farewell with the help of the Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO, which handles the cremation of unclaimed bodies in the city.
Now, her paternal aunt has revealed she suffered from depression as she couldn't make it big in the industry. "She went to Mumbai with big hopes to become an actress. However, she was fighting hard to achieve this. We understand that Malabika was unsatisfied with her achievements that forced her to take this extreme step," Noor Malabika Das' aunt Arati Das told TOI.

Meanwhile, All Indian Cine Workers Association has urged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged suicide.
Who was Noor Malabika Das?
Noor Malabika Das, a former air hostess with Qatar Airways, gained recognition for her role alongside Kajol in the 2023 legal drama The Trial, directed by Suparn Verma. Her last film, Gharwali Baharwali, directed by Sangit Gaikar, was released on May 31. Noor Malabika Das also appeared in various projects such as Siskiyaan, Walkaman, Teekhi Chatni, Jaghanya Upaya, Charamsukh, Dekhi Andekhi, and Backroad Hustle.
