Durgesh Kumar who essayed the role of Banrakas in TVF's Panchayat is one of the most loved and popular characters on the show. After years of struggle in industry, he is now a household name.

The actor who was forced to work in soft porn films to earn his livelihood has now bought his first home in Mumbai, and he couldn't be happier. As he shared the news with his followers, "Aapna Ghar... Mumbai main thanks Babuji Harekrishna Choudhary Aashirwad k liye."
As he shared the news, his fans couldn't be happier for him. While some shared heartfelt congratulatory messages, others celebrated his achievement with Panchayat jokes. "Bahut bahut Mubarak ho bhai¡.. you deserve it and have earned it," a user wrote. "Amma ji ko jo milna tha... issne le liya, dekh raha hai vinod... ye ghapla chal raha hai," said another user. Born and brought up in Darbhanga, Kumar moved to Delhi after completing his school. He took up the job of teaching at a school and subsequently, he learned theatre at the National School of Drama. Later, he moved to Mumbai to accomplish his dreams of becoming an actor.
He made his debut in a very small role in Imtiaz Ali's Highway, starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda. He faced many rejections and only landed small roles in films like Dil Bechara. After he failed all auditions between 2013 to 2022, Durgesh was forced to work in soft porn films to make ends meet.
However, his life changed completely after he was cast in Panchayat as Bhushan. At first, he was cast as a photographer. However, the role later went to Aspirants writer Deepesh Sumitra Jagdish, and he ended up bagging the role of Banrakas in the series. Although he played a negative role, in no time he became fans' favourite and one of the most loved characters on the show.
