Pankaj Tripathi Recalls The Time When His Peers Humiliated Him, Says He Felt Bad And Angry
Pankaj Tripathi shares about the initial days of his career in the industry. He says his Bollywood peers humiliated him and he felt bad and angry too.
Just like many others, Pankaj Tripathi also came to Mumbai with a dream of becoming a successful actor. Years later, he is now one the most loved and sought-after stars of the industry. However, his journey wasn't easy. He had his share of struggles and humiliation too.
He started his journey with blink-and-miss roles. He would roam around in Andheri asking people "koi mujhse acting karwa lo". Run, Apaharan, Omkara, Agneepath -- he featured in many films, but the one that changed his life was Anurag Kashyap's Gangs Of Wasseypur. And rest, as they say, is history.

During his initial days in the industry, he was humiliated by a couple of people from the industry. He says they don't even remember it now. "When they met me later, they did not know if they had said something to me," he told RJ Siddharth Kannan in an interview.
When asked if he felt bad, Tripathi said, "Yes, yes. Indeed. I am a human being, after all, why wouldn¡¯t I feel bad? I felt angry even, but then I try to forget that, as bearing grudges only harms me. So I moved on."

However, after Mukesh Chhabra persuaded him, he went and gave the longest audition of his life -- which lasted for eight-nine hours.
After GOW, Pankaj Tripathi climbed the ladder of success quite swiftly with films like Newton, Gurgaon, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Fukrey Returns, Stree among others and web-series like Mirzapur, Sacred Games, Criminal Justice and more.
