In a tragic turn of events, legendary singer Pankaj Udhas best known for his ghazals like Chitthi Aayee Hai, Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatein and Na Kajare Ki Dhar passed away on February 26, 2024. The sad news was confirmed by his daughter Nayaab Udhas.
Pankaj Udhas' death shocks the music industry
In the statement, the family announced, "With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to a prolonged illness."
As per the news agency PTI, Udhas breathed his last at 11 am at the Breach Candy Hospital. The last rites will be performed on Tuesday.
