The tweet has received close to 4500 retweets and 9,000 favourites. The context of the tweet is, however, not clear. After his controversial tweet, one of his followers tweeted, "but i totally agree with u @SirPareshRawal if #ArundhatiRoy is not available @sagarikaghose is always available #IPL"
Paresh Rawal retweeted that and quoted with writing "We have a wide variety of choices."

The tweet is in connection with the man who was being tied to the front of an Indian Army vehicle, being paraded in a village in Central Kashmir¡¯s Budgam district, as a warning to stone-pelters.
Author and political activist Arundhati Roy is known to have controversial views on the Kashmir issue which derives a flak. But with the unabashed tweet, the actor has kicked up a storm on social media. Take a look at some of the tweets.
Such a depressing time to find veteran actor Paresh Rawal join the bigoted rank of Anupam Kher to make such a shallow, misogynistic tweet.

Paresh Rawal's violence-inciting tweet against a booker winning writer isn't much different from calls to kill Rushdie by Khomeini in 89.
