When National Award Winner Parineeti Chopra Fell Into Depression After Her Initial Films Tanked
After her initial films flopped, actress Parineeti Chopra fell into a deep depression and was left with no money and crying all day.
The new bride in town, Parineeti Chopra won a National Award (Special Mention) for her performance in the 2012 film Ishaqzaade. The 34-year-old actress recently got married to AAP politician Raghav Chadha and her wedding was trending at No. 1 all over India for multiple days.
But this bright, smiling and vivacious personality came out of a deep depression.
In 2019 while promoting her film Jabariya Jodi opened up about her life being ¡®down in the dumps¡¯. While appearing on a talk show, Parineeti expressed as per ETimes, ¡°The end of 2014 and all of 2015 - that one and a half year was truly the worst time in my life.¡±
¡°Two of my films, Daawat-e-Ishq and Kill Dil, did not work. That was my first setback. Suddenly, I did not have money. I had made a lot of money by then, but I had bought a house and I had made some big investments. Then I went through a big heartbreak in my life. Literally, all the departments in my life were down. Nothing positive to look forward to¡¡±
Parineeti revealed that she went into a shell and stopped eating or sleeping well.
She shared, ¡°I didn't have any friends at that time. I never met people. I cut off contact with everyone including my family. I would talk to them once every two weeks. I was gone. I just used to be in my room, watching TV, sleeping, getting up, staring all day. I was a zombie. I was a typical filmy depressed girl.¡±
¡°I would curl up on my sofa and sleep, falling ill all the time. I didn't meet the media for almost six months.¡±
Parineeti was lucky to have some people in her life who dragged her out of intense sadness and numbness.
She shared, ¡°I would say a couple of people helped me. Sahej, my brother, he's my soulmate. He was the only one I spoke to every single day. He would stay with me and help me out. There was my friend Sanjana. We spoke a lot and became closer that year. She helped me so much. I would cry maybe 10 times a day. I was always crying and upset. I had chest pain that would not go out of my body.¡±
Last seen in Uunchai, Parineeti will be next in Akshay Kumar¡¯s Mission Raniganj and Amar Singh Chamkila opposite Dilijit Dosanjh.
