People Slam Vivek Agnihotri For Taking A Dig At Anurag Kashyap Over 'Misquoted' News Article
Vivek Agnihotri reacts to Anurag Kashyap's opinion on films like Kantara and Pushpa.
The Kashmir Files helmer Vivek Agnihotri has reacted to his industry rival Anurag Kashyap's recent statement about the recently released blockbusters Kantara and Pushpa.
In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Anurag Kashyap stated that Rishab Shetty's Kantara and Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa gives courage to people to come forward and tell their stories.
However, if one tries to emulate the success of a film such as Yash starrer KGF 2, it leads them towards disaster. Anurag clearly mentioned, "that's the bandwagon that Bollywood destroyed itself on."
"You have to find films that give you courage,¡± The Gangs Of Wasseypur director Anurag Kashyap said, while decoding why the Hindi film industry is failing.
Anurag's statement was recorded by some media outlets and even published on websites. Later, Vivek Agnihotri took the opportunity to slam his rival Anurag over a ¡®misquoted¡¯ headline that quoted the latter saying ¡°films like Kantara are destroying the industry."
Sharing a news article on Anurag Kashyap on Tuesday, Vivek Agnihotri sarcastically called him "Bollywood¡¯s one & only Milord" and said that he "totally disagrees" with Anurag's views.
Many reacted to Vivek Agnihotri¡¯s tweet. While some supported him, others went on to mention that the headline he shared was ¡®misquoting¡¯ Dobaaraa director Anurag Kashyap.
Taking to the Elon Musk-owned platform, a user wrote, ¡°First read what he said. he had nothing but praise about Kantara, Pushpa, RRR etc. He said people who simply copy Kantara or Pushpa without working on original content will not be successful. What is wrong in that?"
