Priyanka Chopra Says She Was Lightened Up By ¡®Makeup And Blasting Lighting¡¯ In The Film Kismat
Priyanka Chopra has revealed that her 'dusky' skin was lightened by makeup and blasting lighting for a film.

The actress has not only claimed that she was treated as an outsider, but also termed as a "dusky" actress.
Priyanka during the promotions of her forthcoming web-series 'Citadel,' shared her experiences in Bollywood.
Speaking to Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert podcast, she said she did advertisements for fairness creams and was even 'lightened up with makeup' for some of her movies in the past.
The actress, who has featured in several Bollywood movies such as Barfi, Dil Dhadakne Do, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Don among others, also said that she couldn't take B-Town politics, which forced her to leave India and move to the US.
Recalling about doing advertisements for brands that sells fairness creams, Priyanka said those commercials were damaging.
Sharing her experience shooting for an ad in the mid-2000s, the actress said ¡°I am a darker-skinned girl and this guy comes in and I¡¯m selling flowers and he comes in and he doesn¡¯t even look at me. I start using this cream and I get a job, I get the guy, all my dreams come true,¡± as reported by India.com.
Priyanka went on to claim that her skin was lightedned up by makeup and blasting lightening in movies.
Speaking of her film Kismat, which featured Bobby Deol opposite Priyanka, the actress said, ¡°There was a song that I still remember. It was called Chitti Dudh Kudi which means a girl who is as white as milk and I ain¡¯t that but I was playing her and I was really lightened up in the movie.¡±
