Rajinikanth Defends Daughter Aishwarya After She Says Her ¡®Dad Is Not Sanghi¡¯

Rajinikanth spoke candidly about his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth's recent remark about him not being a Sanghi. She mentioned earlier that some people dubbed her father "Sanghi" but he actually isn't. In an interview with reporters on Monday outside the Chennai airport, Rajinikanth defended Aishwarya's remark, asserting that she never used the term "Sanghi" in a bad manner.
Rajinikanth said in Tamil as per Indiatoday, "My daughter (Aishwarya Rajinikanth) never said that Sanghi [the term] was a bad word. She only questioned why her father was being branded that way, when he is into spirituality."

Recently, Aishwaryaa addressed people who referred to her father, veteran actor Rajinikanth, as "Sanghi." At the audio launch of her next film Laal Salaam on January 26 in Chennai, she made the statement that Rajinikanth was not a Sanghi.
¡°I¡¯d like to make it clear here, Rajinikanth is not a Sanghi. If he was, he wouldn¡¯t have done a film like Lal Salaam,¡± Aishwarya had said.
She also said, "I generally stay away from social media, but my team often tells me what¡¯s happening and keep showing some posts. I used to get angry seeing them. We¡¯re human beings too. In recent times, many people call my father a Sanghi. I didn¡¯t know what it meant. I then asked someone what was the meaning of Sanghi and they said that people, who support a particular political party are called Sanghi.¡±

In Lal Salaam, Rajinikanth plays a guy by the name of Moideen Bhai, in a prolonged cameo. Cricket serves as the background for Lal Salaam. Vikrant and Vishnu Vishal play the key parts. Aishwarya resumes her direction with Lal Salaam, following a seven-year hiatus.
Rajinikanth is also occupied with the filming of his next movie, Vettaiyan, which is being directed by TJ Gnanavel, who is well-known for Jai Bhim. Anirudh Ravichander composed the soundtrack for the film, which also starred Ritika Singh, Dushara, Rana Daggubati, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Manju Warrier.
