Ram Gopal Varma, who is known for directing several gangster movies including the Indian Gangster Trilogy (Satya, Company and D - loosely based on Dawood Ibrahim's D-Company), in his tweet revealed how Lawrence Bishnoi was just five years old when Salman Khan was accused in blackbuck poaching case in 1998. He also shared how D-company is different from B-gang, which people believe is a reference to Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Calling Lawrence a "Hindu Don", he said that his gang is a counter to D (perhaps referring to D company).
He wrote, "The B gang seems like a resurgence of a new kind of underworld with a completely different structuring and method of operation .. He¡¯s seemingly a potent mixture of a HINDU DON ( a counter to D) with a VIGILANTE mind set (In delivering his own justice ) in a tone of Bhindranwale (terroristic fervour) and a BHAKT (Wanting to avenge a sacred animal) (sic)".

Furthermore, the filmmaker stated that the gangster is in high security in jail. "Unlike other gangsters of mumbai mafia , he can¡¯t be caught or encountered because he¡¯s already in a high security jail and he¡¯s sure to garner a very huge underground following for being both a hero (to many ) and authorities will be very sensitive to stir a hornets nest especially considering the communal cauldron."
