Kangana Ranaut thanks Ram Gopal Varma
Kangana Ranaut whose Twitter account remains suspended took to Instagram to thank him. She wrote, "Ha ha thank you sir it's reassuring considering I cast myself in this role."
Meanwhile, Congress is unhappy with 'BJP agent' Kangana Ranaut doing this role and asked her to show them the film before it would be released.
Sangeeta Sharma, the vice-president of Madhya Pradesh Congress Media Department, claimed that Kangana wants to tarnish the image of Indira Gandhi with Emergency.
Based on the life of the late PM, the film is written and directed by Kangana Ranaut.
The movie also stars Anupam Kher in the role of late political leader Jayaprakash Narayan, who opposed Indira Gandhi in 1970s. "Happy and proud to essay the role of the man, who questioned fearlessly, a rebel in the truest sense of the word, #JayaPrakashNarayan," Anupam had said.
Furthermore, the 67-year-old actor told PTI, "Kangana¡¯s interpretation of JP Narayan is fascinating. She believes and it¡¯s also the truth that JP Narayan is a hero of the film not just because I am playing the character. Her treatment of the character is like that of a hero."
About the role and casting of Kher, Kangana said, "JP Narayan was the most powerful human being to have happened after Mahatma Gandhi in politics in recent Indian history. The kind of influence he had on people was enormous¡ I wanted an actor who had the personality and calibre to match up to that larger-than-life persona of Lok Neta, JP Narayan. Anupam ji with his stature, his acting skills, his overall persona fit into the role perfectly."
