Ranvir Shorey Takes A Dig At Filmmakers Blaming Boycott Trend For Box-Office Failures
Ranvir Shorey who is vocal and rebel about his opinions in real and social life has now backed the boycott trend and has advised filmmakers to not make shitty films.
Lakshya fame Ranvir Shorey is currently enjoying the success of his new film Midday Meeal, which was released on October 14th. Ranvir is known by his fans for doing some unconventional films and is awaiting his stint in Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif¡¯s Tiger 3.
Shorey is not new to the social media controversy desk and has earlier also spoken against the industry he earns his bread from. For an instance, he was once in light speaking about how few people control the industry hinting at nepotism. Shorey's new take is yet another dig at filmmakers who seem to be affected by the boycott trend.
Recently, during an interview, Ranvir spoke about the reason that recent films fail to perform well at the box office.
¡°What affects a film¡¯s business is whether it¡¯s a good film or a bad film. So, if you want a good box office, then please make good films. Don¡¯t make s*** films and then complain that some boycott has destroyed your film. No! You just made a s*** film. And even if it was made with ?100, ?200, or ?300 crores, it¡¯s still a s*** film that you should be ashamed of,¡± Ranvir told ETimes.
In the same interview, Ranvir also addressed the boycott trend on social media against some films as well as celebs, quoting, ¡°I think people think that something unjust is happening in the film industry. But it all happens behind the curtains; they're not sure about what exactly it is. What we are seeing is the anger reacting to that injustice.¡±
Last month, Ranvir lost his father who was an ace filmmaker in this industry itself.
Krishan Dev Shorey or KD Shorey who passed away at the age of 92 had produced films like Zinda Dil, Be-Reham, and Bad Aur Badnaam in the 1970s and 80s. Apart from this, he directed the 1988 film Maha-Yuddh, which featured actors like Gulshan Grover, Mukesh Khanna, Kader Khan, and Paresh Rawal. Ranvir had also shared a tweet on his father¡¯s death and had written,
My beloved father, Krishan Dev Shorey, passed away peacefully last night at the ripe old age of 92, surrounded by his children and grand children. He leaves behind wonderful memories and many admirers. I have lost my greatest source of inspiration and protection. pic.twitter.com/rj2pkvHtmx
