Raveena Tandon: On Sunday, the Mumbai Police made it clear that a ¡®false complaint¡¯ had been made to the Khar Police against actor Raveena Tandon, alleging assault, reckless driving, and intoxication.
Raveena Tandon: Hours after a video showing Raveena Tandon and her driver in a skirmish with a Mumbai crowd went viral on social media on Sunday, the Mumbai Police clarified that a ¡®false complaint¡¯ had been filed with the Khar Police against the actor, alleging assault, reckless driving, and intoxication. Earlier on Sunday, a video posted by social activist Mohsin Shaikh on X, formerly known as Twitter, showed an unnamed man accusing Raveena and her driver of reckless driving, assault, and other offenses. In the clip posted online, a few ladies could be heard claiming that they were hurt, while the actor could be heard pleading with the crowd that had gathered "not to hit her".
Mumbai Police Say Complaint Against Raveena Tandon Was False
According to the Mumbai Police, the incident occurred when the actor's driver was reversing the car from the road into the society when a family was crossing the same lane. The family, apparently, stopped the car and told the driver that he should be careful to see if there are pedestrians on the road behind the car before reversing. A heated argument followed soon after and the actor came down to intervene.
Hours later, Raveena Tandon shared screenshots of a post by celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani which quoted excerpts of an interview of DCP Rajtilak Roshan of Zone 9 with a city daily, Mid-Day.
"The complainant gave a false complaint in the alleged video. We checked the entire CCTV footage of the society and found that the actress's driver was reversing the car from the road into the society when this family was crossing the same lane. The family stopped the car and told the driver that he should check if people are behind the car before reversing. This argument started between them," Roshan is quoted as saying in the daily.

The Mid-Day also reported, quoting the police official, that the argument had escalated into abusive language, and the actor herself arrived at the spot to check what had happened with her driver.
"The actress tried to protect the driver from the mob; however, the mob started abusing her. Both Raveena Tandon and the family went to the Khar police station and gave written complaints. Later, they both also submitted letters stating they did not want to register any complaints," DCP Rajtilak Roshan further said in his interaction with Mid-Day.
