Ravi revealed that after coming to Mumbai, success got on his head and he made some unreasonable demands to makers.
He shared with India TV, ¡°I used to take a bath with milk and sleep on rose petals. I felt that, as an actor, all of this was very important. When people start showing you movies by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro and say that these actors used to do this, you should too. Godfather 500 baar dikha diye, aur main desi breed ka kalakar. Khair, yeh sab naatak kiye they ki isse mahaul banta hai.¡±
He further added, ¡°Gangs of Wasseypur film mein humein liye nahi kyunki woh bole kaun layega 25-litre doodh roz, aur kaun nehlayega, isse achcha lete hi nahi. And I suffered a loss. I have left all of that behind now. Mumbai is a mayanagri, it can make you crazy in no time. Money pouring in from everywhere, people taking your picture wherever you go- initial stage me superstar bana tha, thoda pagla gaya.¡±
Although, later Ravi and Anurag worked together in Mukkabaaz (2017).
It was in 2019 that while appearing on the Kapil Sharma Show, Ravi had said, ¡°Anurag wanted to cast me for Gangs of Wasseypur, but he didn¡¯t approach me for it as he had an unflattering image of me in his mind. I have a big-time regret for this as I was very much willing to be part of such a powerful movie.¡±
