'Two Indias' Row: Richa Chadha Shut Down A Troll After He Said Vir Das Didn't Deserve Emmy Nod
Defending Vir Das, Richa Chadha slammed a troll and gave a classy reply to his salty tweet against him. Here's what Richa said.
Despite losing out on an award, Vir Das took to his social media accounts to share pictures of his nomination medal from the 49th edition of the International Emmy Awards ceremony in New York City.
Vir's Netflix comedy special, Vir Das For India, was nominated in the comedy category, but he lost the award to the France show, Call My Agent.
On Tuesday, Vir posted a picture of his nomination medal and a bowl of salad and wrote,
"I was nominated for best comedy at the International Emmy Awards, for jokes. Call My Agent, a beautiful show I love, won. But I got this medal and ate this fantastic salad. It was an honour to represent my country. Thanks so much to the@iemmys."
But some unforgiving people could not get over his viral monologue 'Two Indias' and started slamming the actor-comedian. A troll responded, saying:
"Someone tried to defame India, will ultimately qualified for such international nominations. Bravo. Ghar ka bhedi."
Defending Das, Actor and producer Richa Chadha gave a befitting reply to the troll in her style.
She wrote: "Akhbar padhte ho? (Do you read a newspaper?)."
There were other Indians who couldn't digest Vir getting an Emmy nod.

Congratulate you for winning the award and salute you for reminding some of our Bollywood artists to show some spine to speak out truth when necessary

I worked with Vir Das once when he was shooting for Mastizade. I have not met many actors, but he is the nicest, most respectfull towards woman, and witty man there. He bought us sweets to announce his wedding and just a decent man in general. :)

Really didn't expect this outrage from so many literate people. Guess an educated person can be literate, but every literate person cannot be called educated.

Congratulations Vir. Happy to see you grow from one place to another. Hope someday you win Emmy, Grammy, Peabody, Tony and Oscar as well. I have faith in you that you can do this feat and become first Indian to do so.
