The picture has caught fans' frenzy. Everyone's wondering why she is in Delhi. "Need all these mid terms cancelled rn," a user wrote. "One would go to Swarg for such Apsara beauty ? Indian temperature raised by few degrees," said another one.
Turns out, the photo is a deepfake!
The photo originally belongs to a German traveller who had visited India in 2023. She shared a series of pictures on her Instagram handle @/nilgulyoruk from her Delhi visit in Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Raj Ghat and Akshardham temple.
Some of the X users were quick to guess it was fake. "If only you were obsessed bout her for years you¡¯d know that she does not have tattoos on her left hand or collarbone (i was told by a friend ofc)", one of them wrote. "This picture proves how serious and concerning the issues regarding AI/deepfakes are," said another one.
Years ago, Scarlett Johansson had visited India. Scarlett, a longtime supporter of Oxfam, was deeply impressed by the organization's efforts to aid and rebuild lives after the 2004 Tsunami. Motivated by this, she joined Oxfam on a journey to gain firsthand insight into the challenges facing impoverished communities and how support from nations like the US can alleviate poverty. During her trip, Scarlett visited a school in rural Uttar Pradesh, India, funded by Oxfam, where thousands of underprivileged children from the Dalit caste receive basic education.
She was quoted as saying, "I met a young girl, Gudiya, at a school for Dalit children, a community considered to be the lowest class. She was an amazing, bright young girl, full of ambition and attending the fifth grade. When asked what she wanted to be growing up, she said 'a government official'. Every morning she rises at three am to study and then completes the household chores before walking for half an hour to school. I asked her how she felt she would be able to raise her family and also hold a government position. She responded confidently, ¡®I can manage.¡¯ Her self-pride and drive to succeed was an obvious outcome from her schooling."
