Shark Tank India 2¡¯s Amit Jain has shared his journey, lows and his learning experience from the business reality show.
Amit Jain, the co-founder of CarDekho is the latest to join the popular business reality show Shark Tank India Season 2, which airs on Sony Entertainment Television from Mondays-Fridays at 9:00PM.
The TV show which not just entertains but also enlightens the audience with some innovative pitches and inspiring stories has won millions of hearts. Shark Tank India Season 2 features Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, Ghazal Alagh and Vineeta Singh.
Shark Tank India Season 2 Total Investment
Reportedly, Shark Tank India has already seen an investment of a staggering Rs 42.93 crores within just five weeks since the shows second season started to air.
While Namita Thapar is leading the race with Rs. 10.25 crores of investment as of February 5, 2023, CarDekho co-founder Amit Jain has also put in over Rs 3 crore in various brands.
Amit Jain Speaks Of What Motivated Him To Become A Shark
Speaking of what encouraged to become a judge on the popular reality show and his journey so far, Amit Jain told the Indian Express that the first season of Shark Tank was quite a hit and it helped building the entrepreneurship culture in India.
"I think it¡¯s time that every household talks about this. Also, I have worked 15 years with my company and now it¡¯s time to give back to the people. I think I and other sharks can really help these young business minds. I must also add that through Shark Tank India, I got to learn so much. I never thought there could be businesses in certain categories. And how one can grow it without any prior funding," Amit Jain was quoted as saying by the media outlet.
The Shark also expressed that joining Shark Tank has given him and his company an added advantage of reaching crores of people.
CarDekho Co-founder Amit Jain Reveals His Company Went Bankrupt
Talking about his company CarDekho, Amit Jain expressed that no one even knew about the term ¡®start-ups¡¯ when he was launching his company. He said that in 2008, they started teaching young people, because they didn¡¯t had few trained people as most of them were freshers from local colleges.
Moreover, Amit Jain and his brother Anurag Jain lost money in the share market. Speaking of the same, Amit Jain told the media outlet, "So we lost more than Rs 1.5 crore on shares and were bankrupt. Of course, it was a big loss but we knew that we have hands and brains, so we will build it up again."
