Shreyas Talpade says he was clinically dead
"I was clinically dead for a couple of minutes... I was never hospitalised before in my life, not even for a fracture so I didn't see this coming. The doctors tried CPR, electrical shock, that¡¯s how they revived me. A wake-up call would be an understatement. This is my second chance at life," he was quoted as saying by TOI.
His family has a history of heart-related conditions
The Bollywood actor said that for last fews months he was feeling extremely fatiqued after work. Since his family had a history of heart ailments, he was taking medications and precautions too.
He narrated what happened on December 14
He was rushed to the hospital by his wife Deepti. "Suddenly, I felt breathless and my left hand started paining. I could barely walk to my vanity van and change my clothes. I thought it was a muscle pull since we were shooting action sequences. You don¡¯t think of the worst-case scenario, right? I had never experienced this kind of fatigue. As soon as I got into the car, I felt I should head straight to the hospital, but thought I should go home first. My wife, Deepti, saw me in that state and within 10 minutes, we were on our way to the hospital."
He said that he suffered cardiac arrest at the gate of the hospital. This experience has completely changed him. "Jaan hai toh Jahaan hai. For the past 28 years, have just been focussing on my career. We take ourselves and our families for granted. We think we have time," he said.
Earlier, sharing an update on The Golmaal actor's health, Bobby Deol who is his close friend had revealed, "I just spoke to his wife. She was really upset. His heart had stopped for about ten minutes, apparently. Now they¡¯ve revived him and done an angioplasty. So just pray that he will be fine."
