'Celebrities Have Equal Rights', SC Refuses To Revive Criminal Case Against Shah Rukh Khan
Supreme Court declines to revive criminal case against Shah Rukh Khan in connection with the death of a man during the promotions of his 2017 film Raees.
King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan is busy with his upcoming film Pathaan. Being a superstar, the actor often makes front-page news on media sites, especially when it's related to legal issues.
According to Hindustan Times, a plea for the revival of a criminal case against Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan was registered at the Supreme Court, which has now rejected it citing, "celebrities have equal rights."
For the unversed, the case is related to a death of a man during the promotion of his 2017 film Raees.
The report further reveals that a huge crowd gathered at the Vadodara railway station on January 23, 2017, when Shah Rukh Khan arrived via August Kranti Express to promote his movie.
But, a man, reported to be a local politician, had a massive heart attack at the railway station due to a stampede-like situation and died.
Moreover, reports suggest that SRK threw ¡®smiley balls¡¯ and ¡®t-shirts¡¯ at the crowd as part of the promotion, and a few other people were also injured during the incident. Later, Congress leader Jitendra Solanki pressed for lodging an FIR against the actor.
After losing the case at the Gujarat high court, Jitendra Solanki challenged the ruling that ended a criminal case registered against SRK in the case. Now, the court has said, ¡°If somebody travels by train, there is no personal guarantee. A celebrity has equal rights like every other citizen of the country.¡±
¡°He (Khan) is a celebrity but that doesn¡¯t mean he can control everyone else. Let us focus on more important subjects that deserve attention and time of this court,¡± the bench added, as per Hindustan Times.
This has finally given relief to actor Shah Rukh Khan.
Recently, Shah Rukh Khan took the internet by storm with his shirtless picture from the film Pathaan. After the actor shared his image on Twitter, people went crazy about his chiseled abs and ageless body.
Many could not believe the actor is really in his fifties. A fan wrote, "56 never looked so HOT ?," while another said, "Aaj all over the world Twitter hang hone wala hai Khan Sir" and tagged @iamsrk and added "#pathaan Love and respect always ??"

Shah Rukh Khan was recently seen in Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt's film Brahmastra, a project that took nearly 10 years to come to life on the silver screen.
He will be next seen in 'Pathaan' which also features Salman Khan in a cameo role. As per the latest reports, fans of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan believe they have found a hazy picture on social media that is probably a leaked scene from their upcoming flick 'Pathaan.'
