Taare Zameen Par's Darsheel Safary Is Grown Up Now, Wants To Work With Sara Ali Khan & Janhvi Kapoor
Taare Zameen Par's Darsheel Safary is all grown up now. He talks about his struggle in Bollywood and how he wants to do meaningful roles. He also wants to work with Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.
The story of Taare Zameen Par eight-year-old boy Ishaan (Darsheel Safary) who everyone thought was lazy and trouble maker until art teacher Nikumbh Sir (Aamir Khan) discovered his real problem was dyslexia, struck a chord with everyone. Darsheel became an overnight star with his impeccable performance at the age of ten.
He is all grown up now and is looking forward to doing meaningful roles in Bollywood.
Darsheel Safary said that he was in talks with many filmmakers for some exciting projects but the pandemic hit the world and everything went for a toss. Safary thought that he would be an established actor by the age of 25, but his plans were ruined.
"My parents and friends would cajole me to have patience. I would revert saying that they cannot feel what I am undergoing because they are not in my shoes. The momentum had stopped, which is worst for an actor; band baj jaati hai (the person gets jacked). I wondered how I will get this time back," he told Etimes.
Darsheel also revealed that his father is in touch with Aamir Khan who often guides him in his career and choices. When asked if he belongs to any camp, he said, " If I start belonging to any camp, that would mean that I am taking the shorter route. My life has traversed me on a longer route. Everybody has his or her own journey, isn¡¯t it?"
Talking about stars kids and nepotism, he said there's nothing wrong with it. " Influence is used everywhere- be it in schools, colleges or any other place. Tomorrow if I have a kid and I can make his or her life easier, I would do it. At the end of the day, a maker will cast whosoever he wants to cast."
Furthermore, Darsheel Safary said that he would love to work with Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. "I want to work with them. Who wouldn¡¯t? Janhvi and Sara are established names in the industry. I believe everyone gets his or her chance. Maybe in a couple of years, I will get mine, too."
After Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel Safary has worked in films like Bumm Bumm Bole in 2010, Zokkomon in 2011 and Deepa Mehta¡¯s Midnight¡¯s Children in 2012. Earlier, reports have suggested that he would also star alongside Palak Tiwari in a movie but there hasn't been any update on the project.
