Now, a clip from an old interview with which Tanmay Bhat jokingly calls Shalini Passi a sample has emerged. While Passi seems okay with it, fans are offended.

People have tagged Tanmay's comment as "bully". What did he say? He called her a "sample" and said, "In Bombay, we would refer to you as a sample". To this Neelam Kothari says, "I was gonna say this but I held back." In response, Shalini gave a classy response. She said, "In Bombay, you call it sample. In Delhi, we say unique". As the clip surfaced on Reddit, people are debating if Tanmay went too far.
"Shalini just had to make a sleazy comment about his weight to make him cry like a baby for months. His trigger points are quite out there why don't people use them for counter attacks?" one of the users said. "I love how Shalini handled this," said another user. "Tanmay is insecure himself but wants to project on others to feel good about his body issues. Shalini did well by not giving him the pleasure of shaming her," a third user said. "How dare he call her that? I was watching it and waise hi so many people are being a bully to her. Why would Tanmay even do such a shitty move?" asked a user.
Who is Shalini Passi?
In case you have not watched the show, Shalini, an art collector and a socialite, is the wife of Delhi billionaire Sanjay Passi. Her high-society lifestyle and delightful quirks have caught people's fancy after the show. She shared a close relationship with Shah Rukh Khan and his family as her husband studied with Khan at Hansraj college and have been friends ever since then.
