The public's reaction to the movie, which stars Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda, was mixed. An industry tracking website called Sacnilk reports that on Saturday, "Family Star" had a total Telugu occupancy rate of 28.62 percent and a Tamil occupancy rate of 18.39 percent.

On day 3, the film has had a rather slow pace and managed to collect only Rs 3 crore which brings the total figures in India to Rs 11.95 Crore.
What Is The Family Star About?
Vijay and Mrunal have collaborated together for the first time on Parasuram Petla's Family Star. Along with Abhinaya, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, and Ravi Babu in supporting roles, Divyansha Kaushik makes a cameo appearance in the movie.
Govardhan is a committed family man whose story is told in Family Star. Despite leading a routine existence, he is not afraid to start a fight to protect and uphold the honor of his family. When he meets Indhu and falls in love with her, his life completely changes.
Mrunal Thakur Talks About The Family Star
A pre-release event for Family Star was recently hosted by the makers. During the event, Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda, who play the leads in the film, engaged with fans and responded to many inquiries.
As per Pinkvilla, the Family Star actress said, ¡°First 15 days were tough, but later in my head¡in my heart, I knew no one can play Indhu like me. I love Indhu so much, I love everything about this film, this process.¡±

Recently, the movie received criticism for how extravagantly the song "Kalyani Vaccha Vacchaa" was portrayed.
As per Indiatoday, Vijay said, "I don't understand, are people genuinely confused or are they just looking to troll us? We have all grown up seeing lavish dream sequences in films. No one here is stupid enough to make a film where a hero asks the heroine to pay money for petrol but has a lavish wedding."
