There, I Said It! Kangana's Reality Show Lock Upp Is Better Than The Recent Seasons Of Bigg Boss

The show started out this year and people obviously started drawing comparisons with the veteran show Bigg Boss. While some called Lock Upp a sasti copy of Bigg Boss, some felt Kangana couldn't host.

And we can agree that the first week of Lock Upp was challenging as it was a brand new concept and OTT debut for Kangana, that too a reality show. Soon after, 8 days, into the show, everything turned in their favour.

The flavour of the show is interesting and soon people started sharing shocking secrets and revelations being discussed on the show. Here's why Lock Upp is definitely catchy than the recent seasons of Bigg Boss.

Truly a start of something iconic.

1. The casting of the show

The casting is undoubtedly the best in so long Some of the most controversial contestants have been put together. From TV actor Nisha Rawal who was in news for an alleged spat with her estranged husband Karan Mehra, controversial Poonam Pandey, followed by comedian Munawar Faruqui, they are all on point.

2. Fierce and different from other reality shows

Unlike Bigg Boss and other shows, this one is one of a kind. Due to OTT, it has an advantage of being uncensored, so whatever your favorite celebs say, you actually hear it without any beeps or cuts. There are no individual tasks, but team tasks the jailor provides for the inmates.

3. Got two exes together

The ones who got married in Bigg Boss and called it quits soon after were brought together at different times in Lock Upp. Yes we are talking about Sara and Ali Merchant. The fights, the discomfort and the awkwardness they had was evident which was clearly enjoyed by the audience.

4. Payal screams at Kangana, the host

Unlike Salman Khan, who doesn't let anyone scream at him, Kangana let Payal talk, scream and put her point across. So much so that Payal even said that Kangana piggybacked on Alia's film to get footage. Kangana took it like a sport, replied like a boss and acted like a true host.

5. Getting a transwoman into the show to tell her story

And she turned out to be an entertainer. Infact, Saisha even expressed her feelings for comedian Munawar which was loved by Kangana and her fans. That's not all, Saisha even snapped at Kangana during a Judgement day to an extent that Kangana had to tell her to leave the show. Kangana made it very clear that while one screams and shouts, do not ever cross your line of insulting the makers.

6. Mandana spoke about a renowned filmmaker getting her pregnant

Their deep dark secrets will shock you. There is a format in the show where if you want to save yourself from an elimination, then you have to mention your dirty secret. During the same task, Mandana revealed how a famous Bollywood director who is known for making female oriented films got her pregnant during the lockdown and got cold feet eventually and broke up with her. Soon Twitter started speculating and guessed it could be Anurag Kashyap.

7. Chetan Hansraj abused the doctor who came to see him

You have never seen this on Bigg Boss or any reality show. Chetan Hansraj was a wild card entry and four days into the show, he got hysterical about not getting a balm for his neck and his aigrettes. To show his attitude to the makers, he started smoking outside the designated smoking room. When the doctor was called to check in on him, he lost his cool and screamed at the doctor. This shocking behaviur was immediately dismissed by the makers and he was asked the leave the show.

8. Munawar's photograph with his wife and son shocked the inmates

The comedian who was arrested for apparently making a joke and hurting Hindu sentiments created another controversy inside the show. The man who is close to another contestant Anjali Arora and Saisha did not reveal his marital status to them. Many thought he could be just dating but to everyone's shock, Kangana confronted him with a picture doing the rounds on social media. It was Munawar with his wife and child and he admitted that it's him and his family. He explained that he is separated and that special someone is actually his 'son'.

9. Poonam Pandey's time to time on-screen Jalwa

Because Lock Upp has an advantage of being an OTT only, Poonam Pandey gets to maximise that opportunity. She has been enticing her followers through a little dance, sensual moves, something that again, we have never seen anyone do on Bigg Boss.

10. Anjali Arora revealed how Karanvir Bohra approached her to create love angle

A contestant who has 11 million followers confessed Karanvir Bohra tried to approach her to create a love angle on the show to gain more TRPs. Not just that Mandana also put allegations on KV saying she doesn't prefer going to his house because his vibe is not right. She, however, denied this in front of KV, even swearing on his kids.

On the show, Mandana Karimi also claimed that Ali Mercchant masturbated in the bathroom area, but host Kangana Ranaut asked her to stop shaming, and accept masturbation as a normal activity.
