Urvashi Rautela Shows Solidarity With Iranian Protesters & Ankita Bhandari; Chops Off Her Hair

Actor-Model Urvashi Rautela knows how to be in the limelight. For whatever reason it may be, Urvashi is aware of what she seeks. Recently, she garnered all the attention by sharing cryptic posts involving cricketer Rishabh Pant.

She alleged that Rishabh had something for her but that flipped sides when she started posting Shayaris acting like a heartbroken teenager. Now, Urvashi is in light for little good things where she can be seen chopping her hair off in support of the Iranian women protesting against the death of Mahsa Amini. She shared a video of it with an additional cause of solidarity for the death of Ankita Bhandari, who was allegedly killed in Uttarakhand last month.

What is Mahsa Amini's case and the protests erupting in Iran?

Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman died in police custody after being arrested by morality police for failing to wear the hijab. She died days after being in custody, triggering the widespread anti-government protests in Iran. Since then, women in Iran have been removing their headscarves and cutting their hair to show solidarity towards Mahsa. People from around the globe have joined hands to voice their support including Indian actor Priyanka Chopra and many more.

What was Uttarakhand¡¯s Ankita Bhandari case that took the internet by storm?

Ankita Bhandari a 19-year-old girl who worked as a receptionist in a hotel was found dead on September 24th this year. Her body was recovered from the Chilla canal in Uttarakhand¡¯s Rishikesh and had triggered speculation of murder. It was alleged that her employer Pulkit Arya, who is the son of a former BJP leader, along with his two accomplices sexually assaulted and killed Ankita when she denied the offer of being a sex server to hotel customers. This incident saw massive protests and outrage in India.

On Monday, Urvashi took to Instagram and shared a post regarding the same. The actor wore a blue kurta as she sat on the tiled floor as a man cut off the locks of her hair with scissors. In both the photos she shared, Urvashi¡¯s back was to the camera as she got her hair cut. Watch out here:
