Hansal Mehta, Richa Chadha Laud Vir Das After Two Complaints Against Him For 'Defaming India'
Vir Das gets support from Hansal Mehta, Richa Chadha and others after an FIR and a complaint has been registered against him for I COME FROM TWO INDIAS.
An FIR has been registered against comedian Vir Das in Delhi's Tilak Marg police station. Another complaint has been lodged against the comedian with the Mumbai Police by high court lawyer Ashutosh Dubey, who serves as the legal advisor of BJP-Maharashtra Palghar District.
What for? For his monologue show I COME FROM TWO INDIAS, a clip of which was uploaded by him on YouTube.

Vir Das has issued a clarification, and now he is also getting support from dignatories like filmmaker Hansal Mehta, actress Richa Chaddha, actor Ashwin Mushran among others.

In support of Das, Hansal Mehta wrote on Twitter, "I was very moved by this @thevirdas. I come from an India where it needs courage for a Vir Das to say this, I come from an India where many of us admire this courage, yet choose to remain silent".

Richa Chadha quoted a tweet that criticised Das and wrote, "Gentle reminder that the pursuit of azaadi must also free us from all-season RWA presidents masquerading as politicos. Actor Ashwin Mushran shared Das' statement and wrote, "Easy folks - This ain't an apology...Of course you need to know how to read to understand that minor point... Das in his clarification said that he hasn't insulted the country and that people shouldn't believe in the edited clips going viral.
