Vir Das Gives Befitting Response To Twitter User Who Asked If He Wrote Rahul Gandhi's Speech
Vir Das gave a kickass response to the Twitter user who asked if he wrote Rahul Gandhi's Two India's speech in the parliament that has ruffled a lot of feathers.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's speech in the parliament in which he accused the BJP led government of creating "two Indias - one for the rich and one for the poor" has ruffled a lot of feathers.
Following this, a Twitter user asked Vir Das, a comedian whose six-minute video on YouTube Titled 'I come from two Indias' opened a floodgate of discussions and debates, if he was behind Gandhi's speech.
The only main difference between Rahul Gandhi and Vir Das is that Rahul Gandhi can do comedy.

On Twitter, a user wrote to Das, "Hey #VirDas did you write @RahulGandhi¡¯s speech? If you have kindly change your script, if you haven¡¯t @RahulGandhi please change you speech writer he is watching too much stand up comedy #Parliament. (sic)"
To this, Vir Das responded and said that the idea of two nations has been around for a while now and it has many versions as well. "The only thing that stays the same, is your predictable reactions," he added.
No I didn¡¯t. The idea of two nations and many versions have been around for a lot longer than the two of us. The only thing that stays the same, is your predictable reactions. https://t.co/dD6Cu19F9z

Speaking in parliament, Rahul Gandhi had said, "The first and what I considered to be the most important is the idea that there are now two Indias. There is now no longer one India. There are two Indias. One India is for the extremely rich people- for those who have immense wealth, for those who have immense power, for those who do not need a job, for those who do not need water connections, electricity connections, but, for those who control the heartbeat of the country; and then another India for the poor (disruptions by BJP MPs)¡. and for my friends in the government, I want to make it clear that the spirit what I am saying is not one of criticism.

"The spirit with which I speak is one of discomfort with the status, the state of our country, and the spirit with which I speak, is one where I am worried about what is happening in the country. So you must not take it as a criticism, take it as a citizen of the country, who is concerned about what is going on."
In addition to this, he wrote on Twitter, " There are 2 competing visions of India. One, of a Union of States, where decisions are taken through conversation & negotiation ¨C a partnership of equals. Another, of rule by a Shahenshah¡¯s diktat. This hasn¡¯t worked in 3000 years. BJP¡¯s flawed vision has weakened our nation."
Institutions - instruments of conversation between states & people - are being destroyed by BJP¡¯s idea of India.
