Vivek Agnihotri Terminates Yograj Singh From His Movie After His Speech On Farmers' Protest
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has kicked Yograj Singh out from his forthcoming movie after his controversial speech on farmers' protest. Yuvraj Singh released a statement on his birthday and made it clear that his views are not same as that of his father.
Yuvraj Singh's father and a former cricketer Yograj Singh became the eye of the storm after his controversial speech on farmers' protest. As the video of the speech went viral, he was dubbed as anti-Hindu. People even demanded his arrest as #ArrestYograjSingh became the top trends.
Soon, Yuvraj Singh released a statement on his birthday and made it clear that his views are not same as that of his father. He distances himself from his father's statement and wrote on Twitter, "As a proud Indian, I am indeed saddened and upset by the statements made by Mr Yograj Singh. I wish to clarify that his remarks had been made in an individual capacity and my idealogies are not the same in any manner."

Following the controversy, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has kicked Yograj Singh out from his forthcoming movie. He is no more a part of Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files, the filmmaker revealed in a statement.
"I had cast Mr. Yograj Singh for my film 'The Kashmir Files' for a very prominent role and I had long chats with him. I knew that he has a history but I ignored as I generally do not mix art and artiste. I keep artiste and politics away. When he gave the speech it was shocking, and I cannot tolerate someone talking about women. It is just not about Hindu women or Muslim women but he spoke so badly about women and on top of that he tried to create a hateful decisive narrative," he said in a statement.
What did Yograj Singh say in his controversial speech?
Commenting on Hindu women, Singh said, "their women were sold for two cents. When their women and daughters were abducted by people like Ahmed Shah Durrani and sold off, it was we Sikhs who saved them. These are the people who have betrayed us. This community has been slaves for thousands of years".
Agnihotri added, "I have sent him an official termination letter I don't care what he replies. I am not a kind of a commercial filmmaker. I make films with a purpose. I make films that expose the truth and I don't want this person to become part of the truth. Whatever he said, it was hateful and this kind of people just want to create violence."
