Vivek Agnihotri Tweets About Same-Sex Marriage, People Say 'He's Actually Making Sense Here'
Vivek Agnihotri's tweet on same-sex marriage gets lauded by a section of Twitter users.
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri stirred a massive debate over same-sex marriage on Twitter on Tuesday, April 18.
The director of The Kashmir Files tweeted in support of same-sex marriage and said that 'it's a need and not a crime' reacting to a case in the Supreme Court.
He also said that it's not an "Urban elitist concept" and in a 'progressive, liberal and inclusive civilisation' like India, same-sex marriage 'should be normal.'
Sharing a Twitter post by LawBeat, which states, "Centre tells #SupremeCourt that same-sex marriage is an urban elitist concept which is far removed from social ethos of country. Extending same sex marriage beyond heterosexual unions will create a new institution, Centre says" Vivek Agnihotri retweeted, "NO. Same sex marriage is not an ¡®urban elitist¡¯ concept. It¡¯s a human need. Maybe some sarkari elites drafted it who have never travelled in small towns & villages. Or Mumbai locals."

Another said, "Progressive, Liberal, Inclusive"???!!! India under your bigoted regime? You must be smoking some serious stuff man! I do agree with the context of the post though, just that it's ironic that a bigot-supporting hypocrite like you is saying this!"
