'We Need Forests To Survive,' Richa Chadha Reacts On Forest Clearance For Goa Railway Project

This would mean the state would lose about 50,000 trees, reports Hindustan Times.
Another report on the Times Of India suggests that environmentalists fear the move will impact 120 hectares, which is almost 85 percent of the biodiversity hotspot of Mollem in the ecologically-fragile Western Ghats.
Reacting to the news, actress Richa Chadha took to Twitter to express her concern.
She wrote, "We need forests to survive. We need to talk about this."

"It¡¯s illegal. We will challenge it in court," Abhijit Prabhudessai of Goyant Kollso Naka (GKN) was quoted as saying by TOI. The move has invited massive outrage from environmental activists and groups.
