A few days ago Mahesh Bhatt joined the bandwagon of celebrities criticising the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Not only that, he along with Congress leader Sanjay Jha joined a protest meet in Mumbai.
"We believe Citizenship Amendment Bill is discriminatory and it violates the constitutional values. We don't accept this bill and if it becomes a law we shall boycott its execution. We pledge not to submit any documents if asked to prove our citizenship," he has said in a video doing the rounds.
Thanks @MaheshNBhatt for taking this pledge and kicking off a national campaign against Citizenship Amendment.

Now, in another tweet, Mahesh Bhatt quoted a Time magazine article written by author Ian Bremmer to assert, ¡°from a humanitarian perspective, what¡¯s happening right now in India is tragic, particularly for the country¡¯s roughly 200 million Muslims. But it¡¯s also tragic for India¡¯s future¡ªboth as a functioning and inclusive democracy¡±.
Mahesh Bhatt shared this from the article along with the link to the story which is titled ¡°I Argued That Narendra Modi Was India's Best Hope for Economic Reform. Things Have Changed".
Make no mistake: from a humanitarian perspective, what¡¯s happening right now in India is tragic, particularly for the country¡¯s roughly 200 million Muslims. But it¡¯s also tragic for India¡¯s future¡ªboth as a functioning and inclusive democracy. https://t.co/TlqjUoGmES
