Ripu Sudan AKA Raj Kundra, the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, took the entire nation by storm after he was arrested by Mumbai Police in a case related to pornography.
Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale confirmed, "There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We¡¯ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this."

As per a report on news agency IANS, Raj Kundra has been listed as a director in as many as nine companies that include:
Shilpa Yog Private Limited, Cinemation Media Works, Bastian Hospitality, Kundra Constructions, J.L. Stream, Aqua Energy Beverages, Viaan Industries, Whole and Them Some Private Limited and Clearcom Private Media.
Both Kundra and Shetty were directors in Kundra Constructions but the company has now been struck off the rolls.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra is listed as a director in as many as 23 companies. She has been director of some companies in the past, which have been struck off the rolls now.
About the company that is the center of the controversy: Armsprime Media.
The company that led to the arrest of Raj Kundra, on charges of making pornographic content and publishing them through mobile applications, Armsprime Media has two directors Sanjay Kumar Tripathy and Saurabh Kushwah. Raj Kundra had reportedly invested in this celebrity app startup that develops apps for Indian Models including Gehna Vashishta & Sherlyn Chopra.
In 2019, Raj Kundra had said that he sold the shares of his company to the Founders of the company.
Poonam Pandey Connection
Pandey was a client for the company, allegedly for 60 lakhs. Poonam Pandey's app was an adult app. However, one month later, the contract was terminated because of alleged payment issues.
While Armsprime Media claimed that the contract was terminated because the content posted by Poonam was bold.
Pandey in 2020 filed a complaint in the Bombay High Court against Raj Kundra and his associates claiming that they had been illegally using content featuring her even after the termination of the contract.
What is Hotshots?
Hotshots is an app developed by Armsprime Media that reportedly had bold content featuring photos and videos of models like Gehana Vasisth.
Gehana Vasisth¡¯s involvement
Earlier this year in Feb, nine people were arrested including model and actor Gehana Vasisth for luring aspiring actors into porn by promising work. She is currently out on bail.
"The law will take its course. We have full faith in the Mumbai police, but they should not mix up porn with erotica or bold content. We have always said that the Mumbai police is the best force in the world. The courts will eventually decide during the trial as to who are the real culprits and which of the arrested accused were merely used, by others."
"We don't want to comment anymore, as Gehana is on bail in the same cases and she does not want to prejudice or impair her right to her personal defense. However, police should investigate fully as there are many more skeletons in the cupboards of the rich and famous."
Raj Kundra's IPL betting case
This isn't the first time Raj Kundra's name has been embroiled in a controversy. Raj Kundra and his wife Shilpa Shetty owned a cricket team, Rajasthan Royals, in the Indian Premier League. At that time Raj was entangled in a match-fixing case. As per reports, he was in touch with seven bookies. He placed bets on his team through three IPL seasons. He was questioned by Delhi Police for several hours and was served a lifetime ban from on series in 2015.
Raj Kundra's bitcoin scam
In 2018, Kundra was summoned by Enforcement Directorate (ED). He was allegedly involved in the bitcoin trade which had been deemed illegal by the government at the time.
