According to a report?Wunderbar Films Private Limited, the production company of actor Dhanush, is suing for copyright infringement of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in a court suit, asking Rs?1 crore in damages from Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan.?

Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, a Netflix documentary on actress Nayanthara and her spouse Vignesh Shivan, has been the target of a legal claim filed by actor Dhanush through his production company Wunderbar Films. Based on a copyright infringement, the case claims that the Netflix documentary used behind-the-scenes bits from the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan sets without consent.

According to an affidavit Wunderbar Films filed, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are accused of unprofessional behaviour on the "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan" sets. According to Times Now, he also demanded damages of Rs 1 crore.
Wunderbar Films stated, ¡°The fourth respondent (Vignesh Shivan) unnecessarily began focusing his attention only on the third respondent (Nayanthara), ignoring the other cast and crew of the movie by taking multiple retakes of scenes involving the third respondent in order to ensure that only she delivers her best performance, without prioritising the other actor.¡±
Additionally, The court denied Dhanush's request for an interim injunction against the documentary. The court has then set a hearing for the primary civil matter for April 9, 2025.

Everything about Naanum Rowdy Dhaan
For those who are unaware, Nayanthara co-starred with Vijay Sethupathi in the 2015 Tamil movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Vignesh Shivan directed and Dhanush produced the romantic comedy under his Wunderbar Films banner.
Earlier, Nayanthara criticised Dhanush in an open letter which she posted on social media for failing to grant them the NOC in spite of their repeated demands and requests.
