The letdown of Salman Khan¡¯s Sikandar continues¡
In contrast, Salman Khan's latest release, Sikandar, has faced a lukewarm reception both reviews and footfall-wise. The action drama opened with Rs 26 crore on 30th March and saw a slight increase to Rs 29 crore on the second day, coinciding with the Eid holiday. Despite the festive release, the film's number dropped significantly to Rs 19.5 crore (Day 3) and Rs 9.75 crore (Day 4).
The total currently stands at Rs 84.25 crore (India net), indicating a struggle to gain momentum. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kishore, Jatin Sarna and Sanjay Kapoor in key roles. This one¡¯s a Pritam musical cinematographed by Tirru and edited by Vivek Harshan.
Considering there¡¯s no upcoming competition in the Hindi belt for Sikandar, there¡¯s hope that the family entertainer will be easily able to break even. Made on a reported budget of Rs 200 crore, the film will likely not go beyond Rs 500 crore. What do you think is the reason behind Sikandar¡¯s box office letdown? Drop your thoughts @indiatimes.
