Chinmayi Sripaada gets called a 'prostitute' for her views on Atul Subhash's suicide: 'Abusers calling themselves men's rights activists'
After Atul Subhash's tragic suicide, singer Chinmayi Sripaada shared her thoughts on men who can mobilise support in personal matters but fail to act on social issues. Her post sparked backlash, with one troll calling her a "prostitute," prompting a strong response from Sripaada.
Following the tragic suicide of Atul Subhash on Monday, in which he left behind a note and video accusing his wife of harassment and extortion, the internet has been on edge and quick to condemning anyone who speaks out in a way that doesn¡¯t fully align with Subhash's perspective. In the wake of such intense reactions, singer Chinmayi Sripaada took to X to share her thoughts on men who can rally support, raise funds, and even attempt to get companies like Accenture to fire his wife. Now, she finds herself at the centre of the storm, with people hurling derogatory comments, even calling her a "prostitute."
What Chinmayi Sripaada said about the Bengaluru techie suicide case
Yesterday, Sripaada took to X to post: "One thing I understand from the Atul Subhash case is that so many of these men are capable of mobilising support, raising funds, even attempting to force Accenture to fire the woman, reaching out to top management and more. When they want to, they will."

When they want to, they will.
So if they haven¡¯t done¡
She further pointed out that while such energy is often directed towards personal battles, it's rarely seen in the fight for social justice.
"So if they haven't done anything so far to make sure rapes and child sexual abuse happen (especially for men and male survivors of sexual violence), or even something like corruption and holding politicians accountable ¨C you know why," Sripaada emphasised.
She went on to explain how many people refuse to take action when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable. "Some of these people won't even do the needful to set up ICCs and POCSO units in the schools they send their kids to. They don¡¯t care if their kid gets abused in school. Even if it is their kid, they¡¯ll probably call them a liar by habit and attempt to close the case by settling in a police station," Sripaada observed, criticising how certain systems protect the abusers rather than the victims.
Her message underscored a grim truth about the priorities of those in power: "They don't WANT to dismantle these systems that give them power to abuse someone else. So people here can. Just that they don't want to."
