The incident led to a lot of support for Chris on the internet and hashtag 'I Stand With Chris' started trending on Twitter soon after. People are applauding the comedian for maintaining his calm and carrying on the show despite being 'assaulted on the Oscars stage'.
Recently, an online ticketing market place confirmed that Chris Rock's upcoming stand-up show is witnessing a rise in its ticket price and sales after the entire Oscars 2022 fiasco involving Will Smith.

Meanwhile, Chris Rock refused to press charges against Will Smith. The Los Angeles Police Department had confirmed the same via a statement.
The statement by the LAPD reads, "LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards programme. The incident involved one individual slapping another."
"The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report."
