Emergency Release Date: The emergency on Kangana Ranaut¡¯s upcoming film has finally been lifted. The political drama which was awaiting a big screen debut date after several postponements is finally seeing a sunrise. Emergency will be released in theatres worldwide on January 17th, 2025. Is Kangana Ranaut¡¯s Emergency based on a true story?
Emergency Plot: Kangana Ranaut who has written, directed and co-produced this film claims to have taken cues from the controversial 1975 Emergency in India. The film will feature the actress playing the character of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and will chronicle the events that occurred under her leadership.
Emergency OTT Release
After its theatrical run, Emergency will be streaming on Netflix globally. The satellite of the film has been acquired by Zee Cinema who will have its world television premiere several weeks after OTT. With a runtime of 146 minutes, Emergency has received a U certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after multiple delays and legal cases.
Emergency cast and crew
Based on a screenplay by Ritesh Shah, Emergency has been jointly produced by Kangana¡¯s Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios. Tetsuo Nagata has cinematographed the film with Rameshwar S. Bhagat as the editor. Other than Kangana, it also stars Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Ashok Chhabra as Morarji Desai.
