Some of the most anticipated film that couldn't be released owing to the pandemic will hit the screens this year. After Vijay's Master, here is what you should be looking forward to from South Indian industry.
After a year of no action on big screen, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Kamla Haasan, Mahesh Babu, NTR Jr are all set to entertain the masses with these films.
1. Drishyam 2 (Malayalam)
Mohanlal¡¯s Drishyam which was later remade into a Hindi film starring Ajay Devgn is returning with a sequel. The teaser has already been released, and it has caught people's fancy. The movie will be set six years after the icidents of the first one. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 2 will release on Amazon prime Video in 2021.
2. KGF Chapter 2 (Kannada)
The story of KGF will be bigger and better this time. There will more action and the film will be exciting as the second part had additions like Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, and Raveena Tandon.
3. RRR (Telugu)
Touted as the biggest multi-starrer Telugu ever made, SS Rajamouli's action-drama RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) stars NT Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan in the lead roles. After the grand success of Baahubali, people are eagerly waiting for this one, which is a fictional tale based on the lives of two freedom fighters in early 20th century -- Alluri Sitarama Raju and Kumram Bheem. The movie also stars Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles.
4. Indian 2 (Tamil)

Apart from Kamal Haasan, Indian 2 also stars Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet in pivotal roles. According to media reports, Kajal plays an 85-year-old woman in director Shankar's Indian 2. The details about the film have been kept under wraps. "It's a very exciting role but I can't tell you too much about it. They (makers of the film) will kill me!" she had earlier told IANS.

Even before its release, people have declared this Koratala Siva movie a blockbuster. Produced by Charan and Niranjan Reddy under the Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainments banners, the film stars Chiranjeevi and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. Besides, Ram Charan and Sonu Sood will also be seen in pivotal roles.

If reports are to be believed, the Prabhas starrer movie will hit the screens on April 28, on the same date when the second part of Baahubali had released. The period drama starring Pooja Hegde as female lead is set in the backdrop of Europe. Going by the posters, the films looks out-and-out romantic drama.
7. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (Malayalam)
The hit Jodi of Priyadarshan and Mohanlal is back for another blockbuster. This time for an historical epic film set in the 16th century. The story follows the valour of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the naval admiral who bravely defended the Malabar coast from the Portuguese invasion. Slated to release on March 26, the movie also stars Suniel Shetty, Prabhu, Manju Warrier and Keerthy Suresh in prominent roles.

After the grand success of CU Soon, Fahadh Faasil will be back in this film written and directed by Mahesh Narayanana. Also starring Nimisha Sajayan, Joju George, Dileesh Pothan and Maala Parvathi, the crime thriller is based on the theme of land acquisition. "At its core, Malik is a political thriller. The story is relevant because in Kerala, there has been an increase of land acquisition cases, especially in sensitive coastal areas," the director told TOI.

The film made headlines after a few crew members tested positive. Soon after, Rajinikanth's health also deteriorated post which he was hospitalised. Written by Siva, the movie also stars Meena, Khushbu, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Prakash Raj and Vela Ramamoorthy.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata stars superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role along with Keerthy Suresh. It is said that the shooting of the movie will commence on Jan 25 in Dubai.
11. Kurup (Malayalam)
Srinath Rajendran's Kurup is a biopic inspired by the life of Sukumara Kurup, one of Kerala¡¯s notorious and most wanted real-life criminal. Starring Dulquer Salmaan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Indrajith Sukumaran, Shine Tom Chacko and Sunny Wayne, the film will be released in five languages simultaneously.

Directed by Kishore Tirumala, Red is an official remake of 2019 Tamil film Thadam. The movie stars Ram Pothineni, Nivetha Pethuraj, Malvika Sharma and Amritha Aiye in prominent roles.
