23 years after working together in Titanic, Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron reunited with Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet for his magnum opus and most ambitious franchise Avatar.
23 years after working together in Titanic, Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron reunited with Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet for his magnum opus and most ambitious franchise Avatar.
Joining the team for the second and third installment of the superhit franchise, Kate Winslet is reportedly playing a ¡®water person¡¯ in the epic science fiction movies. Her character is called Ronal - a free diver of the reef tribe of Na'vi known as Metkayina.
While the team of the highly awaited movie is known to share teasers to enthrall the audiences and make the wait for it way more tough than it already is, this time around they dropped a behind-the-scenes photograph of Winslet wearing a motion-capture suit and donning gigantic wing-like flags underwater.
What¡¯s more she is also wearing weights around her waist to keep her steady at the bottom of a huge water tank.
From Kate Winslet's recent interview in @THR: ¡°I had to learn how to free-dive to play that role in Avatar, and that was just incredible. My longest breath hold was seven minutes and 14 seconds, like crazy, crazy stuff.¡± pic.twitter.com/ZYAmZdNgHS

For the unversed, Kate Winslet will be playing a very vital role in both the upcoming installments Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, and is quite excited to be working with good friend and colleague Cameron after two decades. Talking about the same in an interview, she had said,
"It was so wonderful to work with Jim again. Time has changed him. Jim has become a father a few more times over. He is a calmer person. Chilled. You can just feel him enjoying it more this time."
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she had shared details about her experience of preparing for this project,"I had to learn how to free-dive to play that role in Avatar, and that was just incredible... My longest breath hold was seven minutes and 14 seconds, like crazy, crazy stuff."
The filming of Avatar 2 is already finished but the film saw an unprecedented delay due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Maker James Cameron had confirmed that both the sequels were being shot back-to-back and the third one is almost 95 percent complete, in conversation with Arnold Schwarzenegger on his channel earlier this year.
He said, ¡°Well, Covid hit us like it hit everybody. We lost about four and a half months of production. As a result of that, we¡¯ve rolled around one more full year for a release in December of 2022. That¡¯s been announced already. Now that doesn¡¯t mean I have an extra year to finish the film, because the day we deliver Avatar 2 we¡¯ll just start working on finishing Avatar 3.¡±
Photographs from the gigantic set and concept art from the highly awaited and long-delayed Avatar 2 have kept social media flooded.
